Community Guidelines
Last updated: April 17, 2026 · Effective: April 17, 2026
1. Our Values
PolyQuesting was built for the polyamorous, ENM, and kink communities — people who have often been excluded, judged, or misunderstood elsewhere. This is your home base. We take that seriously.
Three values underpin everything here:
- Consent — explicit, enthusiastic, and ongoing. It applies to your relationships and to how you engage with this platform.
- Respect — for relationship styles, identities, kinks, and boundaries that differ from yours.
- Authenticity — be who you are. Don't fake it, don't perform it, don't weaponize it.
2. Respectful Interaction
Healthy community interaction means:
- Treating other users with dignity, regardless of their relationship structure or kink profile
- Asking before sending anything intimate or explicit — don't assume consent from a profile
- Accepting "no" without pushback, negotiation, or follow-up messages
- Acknowledging that people have different relationship models — hierarchical poly, RA, solo poly, swinging, and everything in between — and none is more valid than another
- Being honest about who you are and what you're looking for
3. Consent Culture
Consent is core to this community — not just in the bedroom, but in how we interact here.
- Ask before sharing explicit content in messages. The platform does not automate this check — you are responsible for it.
- Respect blocks. If someone has blocked you, do not create another account to contact them. Do not contact their partners or metamours. Let it go.
- Safewords exist for a reason. If someone invokes one in a game context or conversation, pause and check in. Don't push past expressed limits.
- Negotiation is not the same as consent. If someone hasn't agreed, the answer is no.
4. What's Not Welcome Here
We're sex-positive — but that doesn't mean anything goes. These behaviors will result in moderation action:
Harassment
- Repeated unwanted contact after being told to stop
- Sending unsolicited sexual messages or images
- Threatening, intimidating, or stalking another user — online or offline
- Coordinating with others to target or harass a specific person
Hate Speech and Discrimination
- Attacking users based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, relationship style, disability, age, or body type
- Posting content that dehumanizes people or promotes violence against any group
- Mononormativity deployed as an attack ("poly people can't be trusted," "BDSM is abuse") — this is a safe space for relationship diversity
Doxxing and Privacy Violations
- Sharing another person's real name, location, workplace, or identifying information without their consent
- Outing someone's relationship style, sexual orientation, or kink identity to people in their offline life
- Posting someone else's photos, messages, or quiz results without their permission
Non-Consensual Intimate Content
- Posting sexual images or videos of another person without their explicit consent
- Threatening to expose intimate content ("revenge porn")
- Screenshotting and sharing private messages or quiz results from sessions
Impersonation
- Creating a profile pretending to be another real person
- Falsely claiming to be PolyQuesting staff or moderators
- Using a misleading identity for deceptive purposes (e.g., fake age, fake relationship status)
Spam and Solicitation
- Sending bulk, copy-pasted, or automated messages to multiple users
- Promoting third-party services, apps, or platforms in messages or profiles
- Running bots or automated scripts on the platform
5. Kink and BDSM Content — What's Allowed
What's allowed:
- Open discussion of kink interests, BDSM dynamics, power exchange relationships, and fetishes — in profiles, messages, and consent agreements
- Using kink-related quiz features and consent agreement tools to negotiate with partners
- Sharing kink educational content, resources, or community knowledge
- Discussing limits, safewords, aftercare, and negotiation practices
What's not allowed:
- Sending unsolicited explicit or graphic content to users who haven't agreed to receive it
- Posting public graphic sexual content (messages are private, profiles are not the place)
- Using kink framing to coerce, manipulate, or pressure someone — a collar doesn't override consent
- Presenting non-consent, abuse, or exploitation as kink — content that glorifies real harm
- Any content involving minors in sexual or kink contexts — zero tolerance, immediate ban, law enforcement referral
6. Reporting
See something that violates these guidelines? Don't engage. Report it.
- In-app: Use the report button on any profile, message, or content
- Email: safety@polyquesting.polsia.app — for urgent safety issues, account compromises, or CSAM
- DMCA / copyright: dmca@polyquesting.polsia.app
Reports are reviewed by real humans. We take safety seriously. We don't retaliate against good-faith reporters — and we don't investigate anonymous reports (we need context to act responsibly).
If you're in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. PolyQuesting is not equipped to respond to emergencies in real time.
7. Enforcement
We apply enforcement proportional to the severity of the violation, the history of the account, and the impact on the community. There is no fixed formula — we use judgment.
| Action | When Applied |
|---|---|
| Warning | First-time or minor violations — borderline conduct, accidental misuse, low-harm infractions |
| Content removal | Removal of specific content that violates guidelines, without account action |
| Temporary suspension | Repeated violations after warnings, mid-severity conduct, cooling-off period for escalating behavior |
| Permanent ban | Severe violations (CSAM, non-consensual intimate images, credible threats, sustained harassment, evading previous bans) |
| Law enforcement referral | Any content involving child sexual exploitation, credible threats of physical harm, or other criminal matter |
No notice required. For severe violations, we act first and notify after (or not at all). For lesser violations, we generally notify before acting.
No refunds for bans. Account termination for violations does not entitle you to a refund of any subscription fees paid. See our Payment Terms.
Appeals. If you believe a moderation action was made in error, email safety@polyquesting.polsia.app with "Appeal" in the subject line. We review appeals within 5 business days. Our decision on appeal is final.
